This popular service provides commuters in the lower North Island with a convenient connection between Palmerston North and Wellington from Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

The Capital Connection makes the trip to and from the office easy and comfortable, travelling non-stop between Paraparaumu and Wellington Station. You’ll have time to sit back and relax, sleep, read, take in the view from large, panoramic windows, or use the time productively to catch up on your work.

A licensed café carriage provides drinks, snacks and light meals and there are also toilet facilities on board.

Tickets can be purchased on board from the Train manager on the day of travel, or from a Capital Connection ticketing agent.
