Great ECO Day Out
Take your family for a Day Out to enjoy Picton's foreshore attractions and activities, all easily accessible on foot. A great place to touch a living fossil (Tuatara), get up close to a Penguin and have fun discovering some of the amazing animals that live in New Zealand.
EcoWorld Picton Aquarium is home to many different fish species from the Marlborough Sounds, as well as Little Blue penguins, Mystical Seahorse, Ancient Tuatara, Giant Weta, Lizards, Turtles and Kakariki.
You'll travel by boat across Picton Harbour to Kaipupu Point Wildlife Sanctuary where you'll enjoy a self guided walk to the lookout. Lots of great photo opportunities.

You are met at the terminal by your EcoWorld guide who walks with you to EcoWorld Picton Aquarium, your base for the day, where there are refreshments, secure bag storage and restrooms. Complimentary coffee or tea at Atawhai Cafe, freshen up, get your camera and begin to discover Picton.|
|1:00 pm||Picton Foreshore Heritage Walk. Your introduction to Picton. Enjoy a leisurely self-guided walk of the main sights of Picton's beautiful foreshore, Captain Cook, Maori whaling, National Whale Centre, maritime history, European settlers.|
|2:00 pm||EcoWorld Picton Aquarium Close Up Encounters Tour presentations and feeding. You will see some of New Zealand's unique animals: Touch a Living Fossil (Tuatara), get up very close to a little blue penguin, kakariki (endangered native parakeet), seahorses, giant squid (preserved), hundreds of fish of the Marlborough Sounds, stingray, sharks, crayfish, octopus, lizards, frogs etc. and experience some of the work of the “Marlborough Sounds Endangered Species Breeding Collective.”

|4:30 pm||Cruise back to Picton. Take in more of picturesque Picton, Foreshore, browse shops, galleries, relax.|
|5:45 pm||Meet at EcoWorld. Your EcoWorld guide escorts you to the Picton Interislander terminal.|
|6:00 pm||Please check in for your return sailing to Wellington. Note these are your final check-in times.|
|6:45 pm||Depart from Picton.|
|9:55 pm||Arrive in Wellington.|
